Thank you for choosing Baja Charters. If you are on a Whale Shark Encounter, Remote Beaches Excursion, Isla Espiritu Santo Excursion, or a Private Charter on any of our yachts: Everything is included. All our activities are All Inclusive! Our professional bi-lingual crews provide outstanding food and drink options, an open bar, lay-out areas, private bathrooms, fresh-water showers, towels, snorkel gear, wetsuits, an assistant snorkel boat, and typically a hostess and licensed snorkel leader. Where permitted, kayaks, and other water features are available to make your adventure a truly epic Lifetime Experience.

Philosophy

Baja Charters is environmentally conscious. We deliver ecologically sound, fun, and educationally enriching, experiences designed to improve the quality of the lives of guests and crew. We are in careful compliance with virus and sanitation protocols. We provide Reef-Friendly sunscreen for FREE, to ensure we do not do damage to reefs and fish.

Whale Shark Encounter

Swimming with whale sharks is one of life’s great outdoor experiences. The marine life and its ecosystem can be delicate, so you may be secure in the knowledge that Baja Charters appreciates and respects these natural wonders. Baja Charters works closely with various government agencies charged with protecting these great natural resources. Four federal agencies have overlapping jurisdiction in the nautical environment. This can be somewhat difficult when conducting whale shark activity. The impact of fluctuating federal requirements can affect park entry, access to the sea lion colony, and may delay returning to the dock on time. Expanded governmental involvement has reduced our capacity to find and interact with whale sharks. Therefore, we do NOT guarantee you will be able to swim with a whale shark.

Crew Tips

Crew tips are normally a choice made by guests relative to the quality of services provided. Crew tips go directly to the captain and are split evenly after guests depart the boat. Crew tips are normally paid in cash in either pesos or dollars directly to the captain, however a credit card may be used if necessary.

     

When booking private groups of 20 guests or more. A minimum crew tip of 12% will be added to our standard rates unless adequate assurances are provided as to crew gratuities.

     

Overnight and extended day and night charters require a crew tip minimum of 12%.

What to Bring

In the Fall and Winter months, a light jacket or sweatshirt is a good idea. A hat makes good sense. Bring swimwear, and a camera to record memories. We have T shirts, hoodies, and hats available for purchase. We recommend you bring cash for Crew and Ground Transport tips.

Pickup Times and Places

By 5 PM the evening prior to your activity, you will receive a confirming email, text, or phone call, advising you of our best estimate for pickup time. You may expect that your pickup time will be approximately 6:00 to 7:00 AM for excursions. Private charters are as agreed. The average time from the Cabo San Lucas to La Paz runs about 2 hours. Longer from San Jose del Cabo.

Photography

We encourage you to bring your own camera and take all the photos you wish. Restrictions on access to the whale shark feeding zone do not permit us to allocate space to photographers on shared tours any longer. Subject to safety restrictions and availability, crew will assist you with your own photography. A private photographer on a private charter may be available for a fee, which typically includes a finished video with music.

Driving Instructions

Normally, we provide ground transportation to and from your activity. If you are driving on your own, driving instructions with map and photos are online at the website that addresses your nautical activity. See www.BajaCat.com, or www.BajaPacifica.com, click on LOCATION.

Cancellations and Rescheduling

You may cancel your private charter or shared tour 30 days or more, prior to your activity date and reschedule anytime within a 3-year period.

COVID-19 Policy

If your charter or shared tour is cancelled due to Covid-19 regulations or travel restrictions, we will issue you a transferable gift certificate valid for three years in money terms for the same activity, or any other of our nautical activities, and waive the rescheduling fee.

Refund Policy

If maintenance issues, or anything within the normal control of Baja Charters, prevents you from enjoying your booked cruise date, we will provide you with an alternative date that works within your travel plans, or refund your money completely. Baja Charters is not responsible for the Port Captain closing the Port, or in the case of whale shark excursions, changes in bureaucratic regulations without adequate notice. However, in these situations, we provide you with an alternative date that works within your travel plans, or issue you an assignable, three-year cash certificate that may be used the same as cash for the same or any future activities aboard Baja Cat, Pacifica, Marylee, or Lucky One.
